Friday Night Showcase

LatinThinks culminates with a Showcase celebration on Friday night. Throughout the conference, participants are challenged with creating integrated solutions to one of the conference Design Challenges. The showcase is their opportunity to present the current prototype of their creations. Process over product is emphasized. Participants are encouraged to share their creations as individuals, small groups, or even an entire conference group.

Awards

The following awards will be given to exceptional projects in each of the design challenge categories. These awards are determined based on the Design Challenge Rubric. Special attention is given to projects that integrate 3 to 4 of the conference tools into a cohesive product.

Here are some tips to move from Beginning to Exemplary:

Integrate Multiple Digital Creation Tools: Work with other students to determine how to synthesize your ideas together with multiple tools
Test and Troubleshoot: Look for bugs, errors, and mistakes before your presentation. Be ready to address current bugs and identify how the design will be improved in the future
Document the Design Process: Your design presentation should be an engaging narrative of your ideas, tests, experimentations, and collective group work. Document and explain the entire process so that anyone could replicate your journey.
